Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is a video game based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. It was released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on April 25 2019 in Japan and August 20 2019 internationally. The game is a remaster of the 2015 game Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist. The video game contains the entirety of Legacy of the Duelist, including all previously released DLC, within the base game.
This includes content from every series from the original series to Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V, as well as Battle Pack Sealed and Draft gameplay. Features new characters and events from the latest animated series Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, with the continued option to take the role as the series’ rivals and villains in “Reverse Duels”.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is a virtual card game. The title will allow both to relive the most iconic events of the various animated series, taking control of the decks supplied to the charismatic protagonists who have appeared on TV in the last twenty years, and to create ideal set from scratch to challenge players from all over the world.
It is, therefore, a product of primarily encyclopedic significance. Inside will find twenty years of Konami franchise: from the first cards, and from the most representative monsters of what we could call “first generation”, introducing novelties such as Link Summoning, Pendulum and so on.
To begin with, the content offer of the product turned out to be quite impressive: Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution includes both a single-player sector and a multiplayer mode. Starting with the single player, the main backbone of the product is represented by the Campaign, which is itself divided into 6 different sections.
There are six stories that will allow to relive the narrative arcs of all the anime series based on the franchise: from the first, historic “Yu-Gi-Oh!”, In which Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba face the threat of Egyptian reincarnations, to its direct sequel, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, focused instead on the epic of the young Jaden Yuki at the Academy of Duelists. Present, of course, also the sagas of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’S, ZEXAL, ARC-V and the newer VRAINS.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution innovation
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution offers great customization to continue your Duelist journey even after the single player mode is over: for starters, in Multiplayer can create games, start ranked or play with other users locally, but before embarking on this challenge it will be advisable to know by heart the thousands of cards available in the vast game encyclopedia.
The result is a database of nearly 10 thousand cards, all fully customizable to create the ultimate deck and dominate the virtual leaderboards of Duel Monsters. To test the potential of a similar amount of fanservice can try with hand in the Battle Pack, a mode that will allow to face random encounters: it is divided in turn into Sealed Game, in which the player’s deck is assembled from the first round with 10 packages containing 5 cards each.
Another novelty lies in the two main elements aimed at customizing the deck: Edit Deck, in which can assemble the set by drawing from the thousands of cards belonging to the most iconic protagonists of Yu-Gi-Oh, obtainable through two different systems.
Final report
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links and Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel represent the best Yu-Gi-Oh! Games in my opinion. But Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution has a gameplay system that best fits the story of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Also playing the most beautiful card game that can exist (as far as I am concerned) is always an emotion. I’ve played other card games (other than normal cards, of course!) Such as Pokémon or Magic cards, but Yu-Gi-Oh! has something special about it. Many people underestimate Yu-Gi-Oh!, many people describe it as being only for children or for teenagers, but I believe that it can be played at any age. Maybe that’s why Yu-Gi-Oh! managed to sell and promote himself all over the world. The game is always innovative and original and never loses its freshness, it is never monotonous or obvious, like the moves that can be made during a duel. Unlike a game of chess that relies solely on strategy, Yu-Gi-Oh! it needs a massive dose of luck, but also reasoning and tactics like Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution that embodies all the critical features of an excellent Yu-Gi-Oh! Game.
