Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Book Edition
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban introduction
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a fantasy novel written by British author J. K. Rowling and is the third in the Harry Potter series. The book was published in the United Kingdom on 8 July 1999 by Bloomsbury and in the United States on 8 September 1999 by Scholastic, Inc.
The book follows Harry Potter in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along with friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry investigates Sirius Black, an escaped prisoner from Azkaban, the wizard prison, believed to be one of Lord Voldemort’s old allies.
For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter’s defeat of You-Know-Who was Black’s downfall as well.
And the Azkaban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, “He’s at Hogwarts . . . he’s at Hogwarts.”Harry Potter isn’t safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.
The mysteries deepen during the plot

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the first book where the story changes. From here on, the story takes a very different turn from the first two books, becoming more and more dark and mysterious. That magical and childish air disappears among the wastelands of a Hogwarts literally infested with Dementors.
They represent the defense of the castle for the wanted prisoner: “Sirius Black”. Painted as a killer, maniac and unscrupulous, the latter is none other than Harry’s godfather. In addition, the mysteries thicken more and more, such as Hermione’s Time-Turner, the actions of Lupin that intertwine with Sirius.
Then resolve themselves at the last with the discovery of the traitor, the only antagonist of the book, the one who will bring Voldemort back to life, that is: “Peter Minus”. The book takes the reader into an increasingly dark and negative world, probably a mere foretaste of Voldemort’s imminent arrival.

Final report
This book is full of action and mystery. For the first time Voldemort does not appear, although he is mentioned. The enemy here is a less suspected antagonist, which is … literally a mouse! Better to say Peter Minus transformed into a mouse who for three books in a row fails to reveal his true identity. Too bad he manages to escape, but if it weren’t for his escape, would we ever have been able to see Voldemort? A question that sometimes comes back to me. All in all I have always said to myself: “go as you go!” in the sense of letting certain little things go by in order to see the plot that takes place all in one breath, like the reader who will read it from the beginning of the page and will arrive at the last without realizing it. A certainly splendid book that has brought about a strong change in the saga, perhaps many may not like the change, but it should be noted that here the protagonists are no longer children, and therefore have to face greater difficulties for their age. So even the context could no longer remain just for children, as time passes for everyone… except for Hermione who plays with the time-turner! Expedient as fascinating as it is dangerous within the plot, since playing with time often and reluctantly leads to inaccuracies and mistakes, but all in all, the story is saved with great ease in order to continue further and further in the best possible way.
